Veteran Sri Lanka pacer, Lasith Malinga took 3-38, including the last wicket of the match, in his final one-day international as the hosts beat Bangladesh by 91 runs on Friday. Malinga, who is known for his trademark blond-highlighted mop and piercings — leaves an extraordinary ODI career behind him.
Malinga finished as the 3rd highest wicket-taker in ODI cricket for Sri Lanka with 338 wickets in 220 innings with only Muttiah Muralitharan (523) and Chaminda Vaas (399) above him on the list.
The 35-year-old was at his usual best even in his last match as he dismissed Bangladesh opener, Tamim Iqbal with his trademark inswinging yorker. Malinga received a guard of honour from his teammates at the start of the second innings at a packed R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo in his 226th and final ODI.
