According to the recent reports in the media, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to have a new Test captain ahead of the Test championship.
Sarfraz Ahmed has been the leader of Pakistan in all the formats and the captaincy record of the wicket-keeper batsman in Test matches is not quite great.
According to the sources, the candidates for Test captaincy are Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq and the opening batsman Shan Masood who happens to be the strongest candidate of the all.
Azhar Ali has led Pakistan in the past as well and he resigned from captaincy due to regular failures. Asad Shafiq is a prominent choice as well but Shan Masood has emerged as the strongest candidate to become the leader of Pakistan in the ultimate format of Test cricket.
