The second season of the Global T20 Canada is witnessing some exhilarating encounters with the international stars lighting up the stage with their exuberant performances. While the on-field cricket action has not been lacking in quality, a certain off-field issue plagued the contest between Montreal Tigers and Winnipeg Hawks.
The start of the match was delayed after a suspicious package was spotted in the premises of the stadium. As a result of this suspected bomb threat, fans were not allowed to enter the venue and security forces were called in to deal with the issue.
The matter finally subsided when it was decided that the package was not threatening and the game commenced with a 12-overs-a-side contest. Montreal Tigers eventually emerged victorious in the battle as Sunil Narine, promoted up the order, struck a belligerent 30-ball 59.
