Cricket Australia (CA) has announced 17-member squad for the upcoming Ashes series which would be hosted by England this year. A couple of young players have missed out after the management went with experienced players instead.
Wicket-keeper batsman Alex Carey failed to make it to the squad even after putting up dominant performances for the team in recent times. Former Australian leg-spinning legend, Shane Warne has been surprised by the omission of Carey from the Test squad as he said that he was disappointed to not see the name of Carey in the squad.
Mark Waugh was also disappointed on the omission of Carey from the Test side as he felt that the 27-year-old had done enough to be part of the Aussie side in the Ashes this year.
