After the conclusion of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament, Bangladesh has made few changes in their coaching panel. The cricket board has hired the services of former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori as their spin bowling consultant while former South African pacer Charl Lengeveldt will serve as Bangladesh’s full-time pace bowling coach.
Apart from being New Zealand’s record wicket-taker in International cricket, Vettori possesses a rich experience of coaching sides like Royal Challengers Bangalore (in Indian Premier League) and Brisbane Heat (in Big Bash League). The spin maestro will guide Bangladeshi spinners till the next T20 World Cup which is scheduled to be played in Australia.
Bangladesh Cricket Board is anticipating great things from Kiwi veteran as the class of Vettori is known to all. Reflecting on his appointment, the 40-year old shared excitement as he feels that working with players like Shakib Al Hasan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam would be a great experience. Vettori promised to give his best by sharing his knowledge with Bangladesh’s spin arsenal.
