In the 6th game of the second season of Global T20 Canada, Brampton Wolves delivered a strong performance against Edmonton Royals to make it two consecutive victories. Doing so, Wolves stayed unbeaten in the Canadian domestic T20 championship.
While there were other good performances from Brampton, but the day belonged to Pakistan’s talismanic all-rounder Shahid Afridi who rolled back years by smashing a stunning 81 not out of just 40 balls.
Recording 10 fours and 5 sixes, the aggressive cricketer steered Wolves to an impressive victory. Apart from his batting, the 39-year-old claimed a crucial wicket of Mohammad Hafeez.
After recording a stunning outing in Canada, Afridi took to Twitter to share his excitement. Saying ‘Sher (Lion) abi zinda hai’, the Khyber Agency born said that he’s still not past his prime as he is confident of coming good in upcoming games of the 20-over event. Once again, millions of fans were found celebrating an iconic innings of Afridi as he went on to fetch the player of the match award.
