The final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 was one of the most intense games of cricket of all times as the champion of ODI cricket was decided after both teams failed to turn the game in their favor on two occasions.
Black Caps allrounder James Neesham was the star performer for the runners up as he almost clinched the first-ever cricket World Cup for his country.
In a recent interview, Neesham revealed that he was quite excited on batting with his former club mate, Martin Guptill in a World Cup final and that too in a super over.
“Guppy and I sat on the sidelines before we went out for the super-over and we actually played club cricket together in Auckland in about 2009 before I left to go to Otago. I turned to him and said, 'From batting together at Ken Maunder Park 2009, to a World Cup final at Lord's – how good is this?' And we had a little laugh and walked out,” he said while narrating the super over drama.
