Charismatic Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar has recently shared an interesting anecdote about how a table talk with the current Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan forced him to postpone his retirement.
Gavaskar, who is considered as one of India's cricketing pioneers, wanted to retire after a Test series against England. Interestingly though, after Imran touched upon his ambitions to beat India at their own backyard in a forthcoming series, Gavaskar reversed on his decision to retire post-England series.
During the amicable conversation, Imran also insisted upon Gavaskar’s availability as a part of the Indian squad as the idea of victory against Pakistan's arch-rivals would be bittersweet without him. This incident thus reflects the towering amount of respect and reverence the two legends had for each other.
