Senior Pakistan batsman Imran Nazir figures among the most explosive power hitters to ever play the game. Known for his gifted ability to clear the boundary line with great ease, Nazir’s pristine striking was a huge crowd-puller during his heydays.
However, inconsistency and a lack of temperament exhibited by the right-hander eventually led to his downfall and he stopped being a constant presence in the team.
Despite his unfulfilled potential, Nazir holds a special place in the hearts of Pakistan cricket fans, who continue to adore his never-say-die attitude.
He was recently pictured as part of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) video paying tribute to all of the country’s Test players throughout history.
The 37-year-old fondly spoke about the pride he feels in being the Test Cap No. 157 for Pakistan. Nazir made his Test debut against Sri Lanka while he was still a teenager and scored a half-century in his first game. He was soon dropped from the side after playing just eight five-day games.
