After the power show of different mega stars of the shortest format of the game, this time South African captain Faf du Plessis decided to flex his muscles in the ongoing season of the Global T20 Canada. Disappointingly, he still ended up on the losing side.
In a thrilling game which witnessed many seesaw moments, Montreal Tigers prevailed over Edmonton Royals to register their 2nd victory of the tournament. Tigers decided to have a go with ball after winning the toss, and the decision proved very useful as they restricted Royals to a paltry total of 153.
While all the batters of Royals struggled, skipper Faf du Plessis looked to bat on a different surface as he portrayed aggression by slamming 55 runs using just 20 balls. To record this elite batting outing, the 35-year old smashed 8 fours and 3 sixes. Nevertheless, it all went in vain as bowlers failed to defend 153 and his side lost their third consecutive game of the Canadian domestic T20 championship.
