Despite containing a plethora of talent, wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal is one of those Pakistan cricketers who didn’t really blossom at the International level. In his career spanned over 250 games, consistency has never been a constant feature which forced him to possess a mediocre career.
All this led to his axing from the national team. After being thrown in the domestic circuit, the 37-year old looked to adopt a different gear as he scored heavily in all the three formats of the game. However, a continuous absence from the national team disappointed him as he criticized the selection mechanism of Pakistan.
Accepting his removal from the national team gracefully, Kamran opined that Pakistan will have to improve their selection mechanism as it suffers from favoritism. The Lahore born added that domestic performers need to get prioritized, otherwise Pakistan will continue to suffer. Moreover, the veteran cricketer hasn’t given up on his plans to don the national jersey again as he is confident about making a comeback in the national team.
