In a bid to promote Test cricket globally, ICC has allowed all the nations to have their names and numbers on their jerseys in the upcoming ICC World Test Championship. Cricket fans got to see the major change during the first day of the Ashes Test at Edgbaston.
However, legendary Australian opener, Adam Gilchrist happened to be not a great fan of this idea. In his tweet, Gilchrist said that having names and numbers printed on the back of Test jerseys are "rubbish”.
The inaugural ICC World Test Championship has also gotten underway with the Ashes 2019, providing a context to the longest format of cricket.
