Not long ago, Bangladesh’s opening batsman Tamim Iqbal was going smoothly as his bat was spitting fire. However, since the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament, the left-handed batter has struggled to record meaningful batting outings. Fans obviously sit frustrated as a decent chunk also moved forward to demand his removal from the national team.
Against all the backlash, the 30-year old cricketer has recently received backing from the iconic all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan who wasn’t a part of the team which toured Sri Lanka. The veteran cricketer while reflecting on Tamim’s batting woes added that it is only a matter of one good innings which would restore his confidence.
Sharing a piece of advice for Tamim during his interaction with media in Dhaka, the Jessore born added that Tamim needs to take some time off to relax himself and fix his batting issues. Moreover, Shakib has no doubt that Tamim is going to come back as a better batsman in his upcoming assignments.
