The revival of Test cricket in Pakistan has gotten another major boost as Sri Lanka Cricket’s (SLC) security delegation have confirmed the dates of their visit to Pakistan to assess the security situation. After assessing the security arrangements. SLC will take a decision on sending its team to Pakistan.
The delegation will travel to Karachi on August 7, followed by Lahore on August 8 and finally Islamabad on August 9. They will assess the grounds and the hotel facilities and will also hold a meeting with the local security officials.
“I’m confident that the delegation will be satisfied with the security arrangements in Pakistan and hopefully we will soon see red-ball cricket on home soil,” Mani said.
It will mark the first Test played in the country since the unfortunate terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan bus in Lahore in 2009. Pakistan have since then played all their home Tests in the UAE.
