Mohammad Nawaz has been a mainstay of Pakistan Super League (PSL) champions Quetta Gladiators’ lineup since the inception of the glitzy competition. Although the left-arm all-rounder has not had a similar level of success in international cricket, he remains an able Pakistani back-up player, ever ready to pounce on the opportunity to get into the playing XI.
Currently representing Edmonton Royals in the ongoing Global T20 in Canada, Nawaz launched some lusty blows in the clash against Vancouver Knights. Entertaining the crowd with scrumptious hits, Nawaz smashed a valuable 40 off 27 deliveries to get his side out of trouble when they were reeling at 52/5.
However, Nawaz’s effort proved to be too little for the Knights who chased down the target of 166 inside 17 overs courtesy a Chris Gayle special. Nawaz could not keep things tight with the ball and gave away too many runs.
