PCB refuses players’ request for full county season

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly decided to not allow “top” national cricketers to play the entire season of the County Championship and asked them to feature in the domestic season so that it can provide a boost to the local game.

Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, all-rounders Faheem Ashraf and Imad Wasim and pacer Mohammad Amir are currently participating in the Vitality T20 Blast, whereas opener Azhar Ali and fast bowler Mohammad Abbas are playing the County Championship in England.

According to reports, several Pakistani players had requested the PCB to allow them to play the entire season. However, PCB has denied their request as they want the players to return to Pakistan by early September and take part in the domestic matches.
