Pakistan cricket team’s head coach, Mickey Arthur has requested a two-year extension in his role, in the recently held cricket committee meeting. Arthur’s contract ends in September this year and he was asked to re-submit his application as head coach of Pakistan.
Arthur has also suggested that the PCB should appoint a local coach as his assistant, who can be groomed under him and can eventually take over when his contract expires.
The PCB is now in discussion with former cricketers over Arthur's request. However, a majority of former Pakistani cricketers are not happy with Arthur's performance as they believe the coach failed to bail the team out of difficult situations.
