The Indian cricket team has included some young faces in the limited overs squad for the ongoing tour of West Indies as players like Navdeep Saini, Washington Sundar, Deepak Chahar, and Rahul Chahar have gotten opportunities to play alongside international stars.
All-rounder Deepak Chahar came to prominence through the Indian Premier League (IPL) in which he plays for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. In a recent interview, Deepak revealed that Dhoni has always believed in his abilities as a cricketer and has always encouraged him to become better with time.
“Mahi bhai was in Pune for two years. He had faith in me. In the first year itself, he told me I would get to play. Mahi bhai had told me he'd take me in Chennai and to prepare well. So, I had the belief that I will get chances. And Mahi bhai is among those people who will back you fully. He won't change his decision after just one or two matches. I knew that I would get at least five-six matches,” said Deepak Chahar.
