Despite being a powerhouse of cricketing talent, Pakistan has failed to achieve consistency throughout the course of their history. One day, the green team will be thumping top units like Australia and England, and then they would be found struggling against teams like Zimbabwe on some other day. All this has earned them an ‘unpredictable’ tag.
Recently, Pakistan’s Managing Director (MD) Wasim Khan found time to reflect on Pakistan’s consistency issues as he revealed that he always disliked his team being called a mercurial unit. Dissecting the tag, the 48-year old added that Pakistan’s major issue is inconsistency as their team is known to crumble under pressure – an element which saw Pakistan losing many games which they could have won.
Wasim highlighted the need of working on players’ mental strength and for this reason, he advocated the use of a sports psychologist, something which is being done by all the top teams of the world. Moreover, the Birmingham born added that he is adamant to take all the needed steps to ameliorate Pakistan Cricket.
