Rahane open to answer India’s No.4 conundrum

India’s ODI unit is currently counted among the best teams of the world. However, their middle-order dilemma isn’t a secret as the men in blue are in search of a reliable batsman to play at 4. While they tried Lokesh Rahul, Vijay Shankar and Rishabh Pant in the recently concluded World Cup, none of them was able to cement his spot.

Since then, many have advocated the usage of a batsman of Ajinkya Rahane’s stature and this time Rahane himself looks positive to address the issue. The Test vice-captain might not be in scheme of things for the white-ball formats of the game, but recently he has shown his availability and willingness to bat at 4 for India.

Making an appearance as the chief guest at Cricket Association of Bengal’s (CAB) annual awards ceremony at the Netaji Indoor Stadium, the 31-year old revealed that he loves batting at 4. This way, he indicated his services being open to help India answer their No.4 issues which are prevailing from a considerable amount of time.
