The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has set into motion reforms aimed at revamping the domestic cricket system. They have abolished the existing structure of departmental teams and instead have introduced a fixed number of regional teams which will compete in the premier first-class competition in the country.
However, these changes have been harshly criticized by ex-captain Aamer Sohail, who believes the PCB is adopting unconstitutional ways to force this measure.
“First of all, the departmental teams were formed in the past as per the state policy, not by any government. And to change a state policy you have to go through the parliament to discuss it at the length,” Aamer declared in an interview with a local newspaper.
“All unconstitutional ways are being adopted to undo a state policy on just one person’s whim,” the former left-handed batsman complained.
