Rohit Sharma has become the leading six-hitter in Twenty20 Internationals (T20I) during the second game of the three-match series against the West Indies in Florida. During the course of his innings, Rohit broke Caribbean legend Chris Gayle's record of 105 sixes in the shortest format of the game.
Rohit required just four more maximums to in order to overtake Gayle's record when the two sides met in the first T20I the previous day. During his knock of 24 in the opening game, Rohit had struck two gigantic sixes.
This time, he added three more to his tally of sixes to set a new world record. Rohit now possesses 107 sixes in T20Is while Gayle, who is expected to announce his retirement from international cricket soon, trails him at 105. Out of current active cricketers, Martin Guptill is at 103 sixes.
