The New Zealand cricket team would tour Sri Lanka for a 2-match Test series and 3-match ODI series later this month. It would be the first outing of the Black Caps after their heart-breaking defeat in the final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
Middle order batsman Ross Taylor has said that the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka would be helpful in getting over the World Cup final loss as it was a disappointing end to a wonderful game of cricket in the most historic final.
“Time's a bit of a healer and we've got new personnel who didn't play in the final. I'm excited. The Test Championship is a new concept. Names and numbers on your backs but tests need something different and I believe this can give it a bit of a kickstart and liven it up,” he said.
