Sunil Gavaskar expects West Indies to come hard at India

While India proved their supremacy by winning the three game T20I series against West Indies, ODI and Test formats will bring new challenges for the men in blue. Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar believes that India must not drop intensity as West Indian team has enough skills to come back strongly.

Sharing his views, the 70-year old added that it would be unwise to take West Indies lightly as everyone is aware of their show against England earlier this year. Moreover, the cricketer turned commentator highlighted West Indies’ short-ball strategy against Pakistan in World Cup and urged Indian unit to be at the top of their game in the upcoming games of the tour.

“The way this West Indian team played against England earlier this year, it clearly showed that they are getting to grips to become successful again. Their bowlers need to get their length right, more so than their line. They showed against Pakistan in World Cup that they can be effective with short balls,” Gavaskar said as he reflected on the upcoming fixtures of India’s tour to West Indies.
