All owners of the six franchises of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have agreed with the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) plans to hold the entire fifth edition of the competition in 2020 in Pakistan. The news squashes the rumours that franchises are reluctant to play full PSL in Pakistan.
Four venues have been nominated which includes Lahore, Karachi, Multan and Rawalpindi to cover the entire tournament spanning 34 games, while the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will serve as a back-up option.
PCB chairman Ehsan Mani held an informal meeting with the owners on Monday and discussed the pros and cons of holding all matches in Pakistan. The biggest concern for the teams is how to convince foreign players for the entire PSL season in Pakistan. However, it has been assured in the meeting that both the PCB and the teams’ owners will jointly try to convince a maximum number of foreign players.
