Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is actively working towards revamping the domestic circuit of Pakistan and with that the domestic structure is undergoing massive changes. In the latest development, PCB has decided to prioritize young talents over senior players on the local level.
According to the reports, the board has imposed a restriction that would see teams be limited to picking just two players from the age bracket 31-38. This move will make players like fast-bowler, Mohammad Sami who is fairly fit at this age and captaining Islamabad United, will never be able to claim a spot in the playing XI.
The domestic team coaches have already been briefed and have been told that the incoming system would give priority to the youth. One such measure, the report adds, is to make it mandatory to induct at least two players from the Pakistan Under-19 team.
