India’s young pace sensation Navdeep Saini who recorded a brilliant debut against West Indies in the first T20I has been handed over one demerit point.
Saini in his spell of 4 overs took 3 wickets in which two of the wickets came in his first over. However, Saini has breached Article 2.5 of the ICC code of conduct for players and officials.
“The player admitted the offense and accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Jeff Crowe of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees and, as such, there was no need for a formal hearing,” the release said.
Saini took Pooran’s wicket and pointed towards the dressing room asking Pooran to leave in that way. Saini has pleaded guilty for his send-off to Nicholas Pooran and the ICC has given him one demerit point for his actions.
