The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise owners have agreed to remunerate the local cricketers in the Pakistani rupee for the next edition of the competition. This mutual arrangement came after an informal meeting between PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani and the PSL owners this week.
Team captains with the PSL trophy
PSL team owners are wary of the rising market currency rates which is bound to create a financial burden on the monetary resources of the franchises. Paying the local and foreign cricketers in US dollars is not viable for them.
The fluctuating dollar rate will take a toll on the teams. A fixed dollar rate has been proposed as part of the meeting where the PSL franchise owners have been assured their concerns will be addressed and resolved soon.
