Former Australian skipper Steve Smith made history in Edgbaston recently after hitting consecutive hundreds in both innings of the game, his first outing in whites after a gap of almost 16 months.
The right-hander showed great resilience and composure at crucial stages of the game as he helped his side to victory even after losing 7 wickets for just 122 runs on day 1. The cricketing fraternity all around the world applauded Smith on producing one of the greatest Ashes performances.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) recently asked cricket fans to rate the performance of Smith in the first Test with the help of an emoji. Fans came up with a lot of different answers to the question, but the most interesting one came from English pacer Stuart Broad who commented with an angry face emoji, expressing his frustration after being bashed by the batsman on the field.
