South Africa’s legendary fast bowler, Dale Steyn announced his retirement from Test cricket earlier this week. Steyn’s phenomenal Test career comes to an end. His 15 years of incredible service for cricket South Africa is worth praising.
Steyn took 439 Test wickets in 93 matches he played for the Proteas. He was unstoppable at the time of his peak. But the injury clouds remained prevalent on him through-out his career.
In an interview, Dale Steyn said that, “I always wanted to bowl more quicker in the afternoon than in the morning”. He added most bowlers tried to put more effort at the start of the spell but I was the one who came back with double strength in the latter half of the game.
During his career, he finished off tail-enders in a jiffy with his brute pace and accuracy. His pace was always above that 140 kph mark which even intimidated the batsmen of the highest quality.
