Dale Steyn, one of the all-time greats of Test cricket, recently announced his retirement from the red-ball cricket as his body is unable to manage the workload of the longest format of the game. Playing 93 Tests for South Africa, the veteran cricketer claimed 439 wickets via some memorable spells which thrilled all the fans.
After his retirement, social media was filled with congratulatory messages for the 36-year old who remains as one of the most cherished figures of South Africa’s history. Like all others, India’s captain Virat Kohli moved forward to applaud Steyn’s iconic red-ball career which saw him bamboozling many top batters of the game.
The Delhi born was quick to wish ‘happy retirement’ to Dale Steyn as he eulogized Steyn’s services towards South Africa cricket. Playing both with and against him in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Virat carries some fantastic memories with Steyn. Moreover, Virat called him a ‘pace machine’ by reckoning Steyn as a true champion of the game.
