Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur will not continue in his current post after it was decided by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to not renew his contract. His axing comes in the aftermath of Pakistan’s early World Cup exit where they failed to earn a berth among the semi-finalists.
Reacting to the unfortunate news, Arthur expressed his sadness at not serving as the Pakistan coach anymore. “I am extremely disappointed and hurt. I did my wholehearted effort to lift Pakistan cricket,” he said.
“We also became world number one in Twenty20 cricket in this period, which was an achievement,” he added. Arthur outlined his policy of introducing a wealth of young talent into the side, which did a lot to elevate the standards of Pakistan’s limited-overs team.
