The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the central contracts for the next season of international cricket in which the national side would participate in a total of 6 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 9 T20Is.
A couple of senior players were not included in the list as the likes of Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik are not regular members of the team anymore. Both the players are often left out due to their fitness and below par performances and their nearing retirements also facilitated the decision.
Fast bowler Junaid Khan also got unlucky as he was excluded from the list of centrally contracted players after getting on and off chances and his injury concerns have often proved him to be a liability on the field.
Faheem Ashraf would also need to work hard in domestic cricket in the next couple of months as he has been deprived of the central contract after mediocre performances for team Pakistan in the last 12 months.
