2019 has been a gloomy year for the cricket fans as most of the cricket stars have announced their retirement from the International cricket. Hashim Amla is a recent one to do so. This has hit the cricket world by surprise.
His former team-mate AB de Villiers applauded Amla’s great service for Cricket South Africa. “So many doubted you early on, but your fighting spirit, humility and incredible talent took you to the top of the mountain and ultimately to one of the best players in the world and certainly I have ever seen. Congratulations on an amazing career”, AB tweeted.
Amla tumbled batting records step by step and had an unreal career for South Africa. He scored 18553 International runs 55 International centuries for South Africa. He was unstoppable when he was at his peak. Amla lost bit of flare in the last year or so and had a miserable ICC Cricket World Cup which might have propelled him to take this arduous decision.
