Recently, Peshawar Zalmi owner, Javed Afridi revealed that Peshawar will be hosting three games of the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL). However, the incomplete renovation at Arbab Niaz Stadium is a massive hurdle in PCB’s plans to schedule matches in Peshawar.
Despite this, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is keen to host three matches and aiming to complete the renovation work at Arbab Niaz Stadium before the start of 2020 Pakistan Super League (PSL) campaign.
Javed Afridi’s plans to host matches in Peshawar were shot down by Senior General Manager Operations, PSL, Usman Wahla.
“The stadium in Peshawar won’t be ready by the time next season starts, which is why we won’t be considering it for PSL 5,” Usman Wahla said. Following this, Javed Afridi has contacted Prime Minister Imran Khan and discussed the possibilities with PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani and MD Wasim Khan.
