Jasprit Bumrah has been the answer of India’s arduous search for a reliable paceman. Be it with the new ball or the old nut, the skillful pacer delivers for India whenever they need him to fire. One of his major weapons is the yorker which he executes with great precision. All this contributes in making him a deadly pacer.
Recently, the 25-year old cricketer opened up about his success. Bumrah had no hesitation in crediting Sri Lanka’s veteran quick Lasith Malinga for his brutal yorkers. Sharing a common franchise Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Bumrah continued to get better under Malinga’s guidance. While reviewing his prowess regarding yorkers, the Ahmedabad born added that Malinga made him realize the importance of perfecting this art and he’s still looking to master the delivery.
“When I came to IPL and played in the same team with Malinga, he showed me the importance of bowling accurate yorkers. I think I am decent with the delivery, but I want to get better,” Bumrah said while applauding his mentor.
