Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has cemented a place for himself in all three formats after making an impact in all departments within the first couple of years of his international career.
Hardik has been compared to Indian great Kapil Dev on numerous occasions in recent past due to his all-round abilities on the field. However, many former players have weighed down the comparisons by saying that Pandya needs to achieve a lot in order to reach Kapil’s level.
Former New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris feels that Pandya and Kapil Dev are the only two genuine all-rounders India has ever produced while there have been many talented players who dominated in one of two departments but no one matched the above-mentioned men.
“India, I think over the years have really had two and that’s Kapil Dev and Hardik Pandya. It’s not an insult to say that there aren’t any players who are genuine all-rounders. I would say there’s a lot of potential to be enhanced,” he said.
