There has been an increasing debate over Pakistan’s coaching staff and selection panel over the last couple of weeks. After Pakistan dismissed Mickey Arthur and Inzamam-ul-Haq gave up his Chief Selector’s post, the slots for Pakistan’s Head Coach position and Chief the selector is now empty.
The vacant seats are about to be filled by the Pakistan Cricket Board. Reportedly, Misbah-ul-Haq is an incumbent option for PCB to occupy both the positions. Pakistan’s former captain Misbah-ul-Haq will also head the National Camp for players before the Test series against Sri Lanka.
This strongly indicates that PCB is thinking about Misbah to serve Pakistan in the coming period. Misbah has not coached any team previously but he is well acquainted with the recent players. Misbah retired from International Cricket back in 2017. His role in getting Pakistan ICC Test Mace was incredible.
However, it is not certain whether Misbah will be able to take up the burden of both important duties simultaneously. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is yet to make an official decision on it, but Misbah is surely on the cards to serve Pakistan.
