The Barbados-born, English fast bowler, Jofra Archer has seemed to turn the fate of England’s fast bowling history with his incredible pace. He is probably the fastest bowler England has ever produced, and its implications were evident from the 2nd Ashes Test at Lord’s where he scrambled through the Australian batting line-up.
Archer picked up 5 wickets in the match with the best figures of 3/32 in the 2nd innings, but above all his intimidating pace came under the spotlight. Michael Vaughan, England’s former captain has opened up about his views on Archer.
He said that although Australia is one up but Jofra Archer has changed the momentum of the whole series. His short but effective stints kept Australia on the back-foot during the course of the game.
His bouncer blows to Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne also created uncertainty in the Australian dressing room. He will be a treat to watch in the upcoming Ashes series and throughout the ICC Test championship.
