New Zealand have recently announced their squad for the three-game T20I series against Sri Lanka. Regular skipper Kane Williamson and key paceman Trent Boult have been rested from the shortest format of the game while veteran cricketer Tim Southee has been trusted to lead the 14-member squad.
Following an impressive outing in the recently concluded World Cup in England and Wales, Kiwis are now focused to improve their T20I cricket as the next two years are loaded with two World T20 events. For this reason, Blackcaps are also looking to try new players to get an idea of their T20 resources.
The upcoming white-ball series will get underway from September 1 with next two games scheduled to be played on September 3 and 6 respectively. All the contests would be hosted by Kandy. The Kiwi squad consists of following names:
Tim Southee (captain), Ross Taylor, Ish Sodhi, Tom Bruce, Tim Seifert (wicket-keeper), Martin Guptill, Lockie Ferguson, Daryl Mitchell, Todd Astle, Colin Munro, Colin de Grandhomme, Mitchell Santner, Scott Kuggelejin and Seth Rance
