England being down 1-0 in the series, will head to Emerald Headingley, Leeds to revamp themselves in the Ashes 2019. England lost the opening Ashes Test match against Australia while the Lord’s Test was washed out therefore, despite England being in the strong position could not level the series.
In the last 25 years, England has played 20 Test matches at the Headingley, out of which they won 9 and drew 2. England played their last Test match at Headingley against Pakistan back in 2018 which they won comprehensively by an innings and 55 runs.
England does not have the best of the records at the Headingley Leeds, but this Test match is a must win game for them if they want to win this Ashes series. Joe Root and co will take on Australia for the 3rd Ashes Test on Thursday 22nd August 2019.
