The position for head coach of the Pakistan Under-19 side is up for grabs with several capable candidates applying for the post. Recently, media was rife with speculation that Saqlain Mushtaq is the likely person to be appointed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Meanwhile, former Test cricketer Atiq-uz-Zaman has also applied as the coach of the junior side. Atiq, who has also previously served PSL franchise Lahore Qalandars in a coaching capacity, tweeted he was passionate to nurture the young talent and shared his vision with the PCB.
Atiq was also the SSGC coach in the domestic circuit and his tenure saw the side achieve great accolades. The appointment will soon be made and it remains to be seen which candidate do the PCB prefer.
