Pakistan’s Test specialist Asad Shafiq has dispelled the notion that former skipper Misbah-ul-Haq is too strict to deal with. Shafiq claimed to be impressed with Misbah’s unflinching commitment to maintaining high fitness standards.
“I have played with Misbah for five, six years, and I never found him too strict. He doesn’t compromise on some things which he should. Like on fitness he doesn’t compromise. Even here he is working us hard. He also sits with the juniors and teaches us. He is very cooperative if you give your 100 per cent,” he said.
Misbah is currently supervising a pre-season conditioning camp at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore where the country’s top players are participating. This training program involves strenuous fielding drills and other cricketing activities.
