Ganguly backs Shastri to eradicate negatives from team India

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to persist with Ravi Shastri as the head coach of the national side after numerous candidates were interviewed on the expiration of his previous contract.

Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly has welcomed the decision of the BCCI to retain Shastri as head coach as he feels that the familiarity with the current setup and players would help the former captain in taking team India to greater heights especially in world events.

“Ravi has been around for a while, five years he’s completed so he’s got an extension for two more years. Hopefully, now India can go all the way in the two upcoming tournaments that are coming up, which is the T20 World Cup and the Champions Trophy which has now become a T20 format,” said Ganguly.
