Ben Stokes, the “wonder guy” for England in the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, has done it again for his team in the 3rd Ashes Test at the Emerald Headingley. While chasing 359 runs, Stokes scored 135 runs and got England home with 1 wicket to spare.
The left-handed batsman built up a partnership of 76 runs with Jack Leach for the 10th Wicket in which Leach only contributed 1 vital run. The 28-year old probably played the best Test match knock ever and left the cricket world stunned.
Ben Stokes has brought the home team back into the Ashes 2019. He was the only man standing between Australia and the Ashes title and he did not disappoint his fans.
This year has been something to write home about for the English all-rounder, whether it was the World Cup 2019’s final or the Leed’s Test, Stokes' contributions were beyond praise.
