Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is nearing the end of his career as he is expected to announce retirement any time soon, having hinted at the possibility before. The veteran has recently come back after serving in his army regimen on a sabbatical.
Former Indian opening batsman Virender Sehwag has said that Dhoni must be given time to decide his future in cricket as he deserves that after serving his country for a good number of years.
“Retirement is Dhoni's personal call. If he thinks he is fit and can contribute like he used to, then why not continue. But if the selectors think that MSD can't contribute, then they should tell him that we are giving you this last series. That should be communicated,” he added.
Moreover, he also said that the team management missed the trick by sending Dhoni late in the batting order during the semi-final of the recent World Cup in England.
