India’s top-order batsman Lokesh Rahul hasn’t been able to light up his Test career. Apart from scoring a half-century against Afghanistan and registering a memorable 149-run knock against England last year, Rahul failed to perform consistently in the last 20 months or so. Even in the first Test match against West Indies, Rahul scored 44 and 38 to throw away starts.
Recently, the 27-year old cricketer reflected on Test match batting and called technique an ‘overrated’ aspect of the game. Rahul opined that everything looks good as long as a player is getting runs. But, he admitted the need to spend more time on crease as he went on to highlight his inability to capitalize on starts.
The talented cricketer believes that he needs to keep his patience as there is nothing drastically wrong with his technique. In addition to that, the Bangalore born is extremely confident about coming good in the forthcoming games as he is focused to serve the Indian team for a longer period of time.
