India have commenced their journey in the ICC World Test Championship in some style as the men in blue thumped West Indian unit by 318 runs, thus taking a 1-0 lead in the two-game Test series. On the fourth day of the Antigua Test, India delivered a strong batting performance in second innings before making a mockery of home team’s batting unit.
One of the most special moments of the game included the 10th Test century of the middle-order batsman Ajinkya Rahane who took over two years to register this ton. After missing out on a hundred in the first innings, the dexterous batsman made the most of his second innings to produce a stunning batting performance which led India to a comfortable victory.
Sharing his views on his batting effort, the 31-year old said that it was indeed a ‘special Test century’ for him. Rahane moved to credit his partnership with Lokesh Rahul in first innings which brought India back on track after a disastrous start. In addition to this, the Maharashtra born dedicated this ton to his fans and all those who supported him in his rough patch.
