The England cricket team has made an unexpected comeback in the ongoing Ashes series after winning one of the most thrilling Test matches ever, thanks to a nerve-wrecking innings by Ben Stokes. The host side chased down 359 in the second session of Day 4 as Stokes held his nerve to guide the side to victory from an almost impossible position.
Former Australian skipper Ian Chappell feels that skipper Tim Paine missed the golden opportunity of retaining the Ashes by wasting a crucial review which would have won him the match had he reserved it for later.
“When Leach got hit on the pad, clearly not out, by any stretch of the imagination, and the Australian's reviewed it? That was the moment the situation got to them, and Tim Paine lost his brain. Everyone knows it's way outside leg. Why would they go through with it?” he said.
