The Indian cricket team has registered its first points in the Test Championship after defeating West Indies by 318 runs in the opening game of the series. The visitors produced clinical performances in all departments which eventually lead to a comfortable win at the end.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli was impressed with the pace trio of Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammad Shami in Antigua as he said that controlling the number of overs bowled by every bowler and management of workload would be crucial in winning the Test Championship.
“Umesh hasn't had a game, and we have Navdeep Saini, who can bowl 150 clicks, waiting in the wings. We are pretty settled as far as our bowling options are concerned. Managing workloads and the number of overs we bowl is going to be a key factor for us,” he said.
The skipper also said that the victory in Antigua was the result of teamwork in all departments as the game would have been lost had it not been for the collaborative efforts.
